Attracting more than 2,500 people each year, SOF is recognized as one of the premiere camp fairs in the nation.

The Summer Opportunities Fair (SOF) is a community service event that provides a venue for parents and children to learn about summer programs.

 

The fair presents a wide range of local, national, international camp, and summer study opportunities for all kids ages 5 to 18 in academic and cultural enrichment, outdoor adventure, sports, travel, day and board, community service and volunteer programs, and programs for children with special needs.

First offered to the community in 1991, the fair is hosted by Westridge School and typically takes place on its campus, drawing over 2,500 visitors each year from Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley, the Greater Los Angeles area, and the San Fernando Valley. This informative community service event is free to the public and offers something for every student.

While the in-person fair was cancelled this year due to an increase in cases of COVID-19 locally, the 2022 exhibitor listing is now available online here.

The camps and programs represented at the fair are independent organizations that are not affiliated with Westridge School. No endorsement by Westridge School concerning exhibitor offerings is expressed or implied. Families should conduct their own research and reference checks before selecting a program for their child.

The fair is hosted by the Westridge Parent Association (WPA) and organized by parent volunteers. Proceeds from the fair benefit Partnership for Success!, a program that provides summer enrichment opportunities for underserved students from the Pasadena Unified School District to help strengthen their academic skills and prepare them for college. Selected students from PUSD’s 18 schools enroll in a nine year, fully-funded program that takes place for five weeks each summer at Westridge School for Girls and other area private schools.

 

Proceeds also support girls’ empowerment at Westridge School—an independent, forward-thinking girls’ school committed to educating intellectually adventurous thinkers and courageous, compassionate leaders.
